8 new Master Sommeliers announced in St Louis

 

COURT OF MASTER SOMMELIERS, AMERICAS WELCOMES EIGHT NEW MASTERS TO ITS PRESTIGIOUS RANKS

 ST LOUIS, MO (October 19, 2017) –The Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas ™ welcomes eight new members: James Bube of Frederick Wildman & Sons Ltd in Chicago, IL; Rebecca Fineman of High Treason in San Francisco, CA; Jeremiah Morehouse of Restaurant Gary Danko in San Francisco, CA; Joshua Nadel of NoHo Hospitality in New York, NY; Aaron Patrick of Wingtip in San Francisco, CA; Jackson Rohrbaugh of Canlis in Seattle, WA; Jonathan Ross of The Lucas Group in Melbourne, AUS; and David Yoshida of Pollux Wine in Berkeley, CA.

Held at the Four Seasons Resort in St. Louis, Missouri from October 16th – 18th, the invitation-only Master Sommelier Diploma Examination was attempted by 58 individuals from 12 states and two countries. The results were announced at the Krug Reception attended by all who sat the examination, guests and Master Sommelier Examiners.

After years of preparation, the eight new Master Sommeliers have demonstrated their mastery of the highest standards in hospitality, beverage knowledge, business acumen, service and tasting ability.  All of the candidates who sat for the Master Sommelier Diploma Examination showed remarkable skill and professionalism. We continue to admire their dedication to this extraordinarily challenging process.”

There are four stages involved in attaining the top qualifications of Master Sommelier: 1) Introductory Sommelier Examination; 2) Certified Sommelier Examination; 3) Advanced Sommelier Examination; and 4) Master Sommelier Diploma Examination. There are 157 professionals who have earned the title of Master Sommelier as part of the Americas chapter since the organization’s inception. Of those, 132 are men and 25 are women. There are 247 professionals worldwide who have received the title of Master Sommelier since the first Master Sommelier Diploma Exam. For more information, please visit www.mastersommeliers.org.
