Jackson Family Wines Becomes a Supporter of the Court of Master Sommeliers Europe

Santa Rosa, CA – July, 2015 – Jackson Family Wines (JFW) today announced that they will be supporting the European Court of Master Sommeliers, the premier training and examining body for Sommeliers, for a total of three scholarships for the Introductory Sommelier Course/Certified Sommelier Course per annum across Europe, Middle East and Asia.

“The Court of Master Sommeliers promotes the highest level of wine expertise and service, and we are honoured to support their international commitment to wine education. We have always had a good relationship with the European Court and many of its members but it is great to finally formalise our support,” said James Tookey, VP Asia, Europe and Middle East. “As a global, premium and luxury wine producer, we are dedicated to making the highest quality wines and sharing the quality story with consumers. Sommeliers and Master Sommeliers serve a critical role in promoting and elevating our industry, and we’re happy to provide three skilled candidates with the opportunity to join the Master Sommelier ranks.”

Founded in 1977, The Court of Master Sommeliers was established to encourage improved standards of beverage service in hotels and restaurants, and now conducts courses throughout the world. The title Master Sommelier marks the highest recognition of wine and spirits knowledge, beverage service abilities, and professionalism in the hospitality trade. There are currently only 227 Master Sommeliers in the world.
